Florence (Flo) Mwicigi, MD, is an Associate Director for Clinical Research at MedStar Health Research Institute. Flo is currently overseeing clinical trial billing compliance at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where she works in close collaboration with the clinical research teams to ensure billing compliance.
Flo has over 15 years in clinical research in industry, federal and investigator-initiated trials. Flo has managed research projects funded by the DC Department of Health as well as overseen multiple NIH funded trials. She recently served as the Regional Coordinating Center Manager for the StrokeNet Central Area Network for Research (SCANR).
After graduating from medical school at Russian People’s Friendship University in Moscow, Russia, Flo went on to complete an internal medicine externship at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC.
